A Texas State University student has been expelled after video footage surfaced showing him re-enacting the assassination of Charlie Kirk during a memorial organized by the campus chapter of Turning Point USA.
The footage, widely shared on social media, captures the male student slapping his neck, simulating a bullet’s impact, and then falling to the ground. He also used profanity and directed offensive remarks toward attendees.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott condemned the act and demanded the student’s immediate expulsion. University President Kelly Damphousse confirmed the student has been removed and emphasized the behavior violates the school’s values.
The incident comes amid intensified national debate about political violence and how institutions handle public displays that mock or trivialize tragedy.
