At a packed memorial for Charlie Kirk in Glendale, Arizona, his widow Erika stunned the crowd by publicly forgiving the man charged with his murder, invoking her Christian faith and her husband’s own message of compassion.

Erika declared she would not seek the death penalty against Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused in Charlie’s shooting. She said she forgives him “because it was what Christ did, and it is what Charlie would do.”

She reflected on arriving at a hospital to see Charlie after the fatal attack and described seeing “the faintest smile” on his lips — a moment she said revealed mercy in the tragedy, and convinced her that he did not suffer.

Throughout her speech, Erika emphasized love over hate, urging mourners to follow a gospel of forgiveness. She spoke of continuing Charlie’s mission, supporting young people, and honoring his legacy through unity rather than vengeance.
