Surveillance footage released by Wichita police depicts a woman being forcefully pulled from a home, screaming for help as a man drags her away in what is being treated as a possible abduction.
The incident was recorded early Sunday morning by a doorbell camera in the 1400 block of North Volusia. The 20-second video shows the man grabbing the woman from behind and moving her down a driveway as she struggles and cries out.
Authorities later said a 35-year-old woman contacted them, asserting that she was the person seen in the video. Investigators made contact and took her in for questioning. No serious physical injuries were reported.
Officials now believe the case to involve domestic violence and do not currently assess a risk to the broader public. The local district attorney’s office will determine whether charges will be filed.
