In a candid interview, Hunter Biden expressed frustration over his father’s former vice president, saying her recent memoir stirred deep personal hurt and suggesting her selection for office was heavily influenced by her racial identity.

He described the book as “personally painful,” claiming it contained criticisms of his father and portrayed her distancing from him in a manner he found cutting. Hunter also asserted that President Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris because he believes — and Hunter agrees — that Black women are “the heart and soul of the Democratic Party,” insinuating that her race played a key role in his appointment.

Despite his disappointment, Hunter reaffirmed his support for his father’s decision. He emphasized his father’s loyalty to Harris and defended the choice while questioning the decision-making behind how she subsequently portrayed the relationship.

The remarks mark Hunter’s first detailed comments in public about the book and reflect broader tensions within the Democratic leadership over race, representation and loyalty.
