Federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) executed a workplace inspection on October 29, 2025, at a container freight station in Avenel, New Jersey, resulting in the arrest of 46 individuals suspected of being undocumented.
The operation targeted one warehouse facility and determined that approximately 22 percent of its workforce was made up of undocumented workers. Those arrested were placed into federal custody to await immigration proceedings.
Surveillance footage of the raid shows law-enforcement vehicles surrounding the perimeter and agents escorting multiple individuals into vans. The DHS described the operation as part of a larger effort to ensure compliance with immigration laws and secure supply-chain benchmarks at bonded facilities.
Officials did not publicly identify the warehouse operator or indicate whether any employer penalties would follow. The raid aligns with recent nationwide enforcement campaigns aimed at worksites employing undocumented labor.
