A 15-year-old apprentice at a woodworking shop in Şanlıurfa, Turkey, has died following a workplace incident in which two co-workers allegedly restrained him and inserted a high-pressure air hose into his rectum, causing catastrophic internal injuries.
The victim was treated in several hospitals and remained in intensive care for five days before succumbing to his injuries on November 19. One suspect was initially released under supervision but subsequently rearrested; a second remains under investigation.
Authorities have opened an inquiry into the incident, categorising it as a criminal assault and noting it bears unusual similarity to other fatal cases involving industrial air hoses in recent years.
