President Donald Trump sharply criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of rejecting a peace agreement that Trump says could have ended the conflict and prevented further devastation.
According to Trump, the proposed deal offered Ukraine a viable path to halt the war, but Zelensky’s refusal has opened the door for Russian President Vladimir Putin to gain strategic ground. Trump warned that Moscow could now use the setback to strengthen its position and shift the balance of power in the region.
The President also urged Western partners to reassess their continued military and financial support for Ukraine if Kyiv remains unwilling to pursue negotiations. He cautioned that prolonging the conflict risks deeper instability and could widen the crisis beyond Ukraine’s borders.
Trump’s remarks have intensified debate over U.S. and allied policy toward the war, with supporters saying he is pushing for practical diplomacy and critics arguing his stance places undue blame on Ukraine’s leadership.
