A Jewish man in New York City was gravely wounded in a stabbing attack described by police as motivated by antisemitism, suffering injuries just centimeters from his heart.

The assault took place in a public location, prompting a swift response from law enforcement and emergency medical teams. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition, where he received critical treatment for his wounds.

Authorities labeled the incident a hate-related attack, saying the suspect made antisemitic statements during the assault. Police are actively searching for the individual believed responsible and have urged anyone with information to come forward to aid the investigation.

The NYPD increased patrols in the neighborhood following the incident and worked with community leaders to reassure residents and gather additional evidence. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and witness accounts as the investigation continues.

Officials emphasized that hate crimes are a priority for the department and that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspect quickly. The community has expressed shock and concern in response to the violent attack.
