A Trump Initiative Has Immigrants Of All Backgrounds Dropping Welfare

An incentive is a powerful tool in any country. So, it’s present in the United States. Large numbers of legal and illegal aliens are dropping off the welfare rolls in significant numbers. But, why now? The answer is simple. Incentive.

Many immigrants come to this country for the overly generous welfare programs. But, now that the president has declared in issuing permanent status in the United States, the government will consider whether you are a drain to society. Liberals will tell you it’s cruel, but is it? The immigrants wouldn’t drop welfare if they couldn’t survive without it. Welfare was designed as a safety net, but many use it to improve their lives. Also, many don’t. But those aren’t the ones dropping out of the program.

    From Breitbart News

For months, Breitbart News has reported how the Trump administration is readying a plan — known as the “public charge” law — to reduce the burden of current mass legal immigration levels from primarily poor countries from which the U.S. imports more than 1.5 million mostly low-skilled foreign nationals every year.

As part of the plan, legal immigrants living in the country would be less likely to be able to obtain permanent residency in the country if they have used any forms of welfare in the past, including using Obamacare, food stamps, and public housing.

Countries like Australia have similar rules to prevent mass immigration from poor countries that further burden their poor and working-class citizens.

This used to be the rule. You had to prove you wouldn’t be a burden to society. If you couldn’t you had to have a sponsor. Which would guarantee they wouldn’t. It’s a sound principle that needs to be reinstated.
