Once again, YouTube has banned conservative activist and comedian Steven Crowder, this time with a “hard strike” and a two-week restriction on live-streaming and posting any video before the pivotal midterm elections.
The authorities of YouTube have regularly deleted Crowder’s videos without providing a reason. This had happened before.
Crowder was given a vague warning by YouTube, claiming his movie depicting Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter broke their “harassment, threats, and cyberbullying” policy.
The Daily Wire tried to contact YouTube to find out more about the suspension and strike, as well as the company’s relationship with its artists and whether or not it is transparent with them.
YouTube has deleted content from the StevenCrowder channel and given it a strike for breaching the site’s harassment policy, which forbids anything that graphically sexualizes or degrades an individual, according to YouTube’s policy communications manager Ivy Choi, who talked with The Daily Wire. There will be a two-week delay before any new videos are uploaded to the StevenCrowder channel.
Crowder said in an email to The Daily Wire on Saturday that “this current strike is on a show in which we addressed the importance of Elon Musk’s effect on Big Internet,” with a focus on how this influence may tip the scales in favor of the tech titans heading into the midterm elections. It was an announcement that the week before the election, I would be interviewing Kari Lake, a rising political star and a candidate for governor of Arizona.
This strike is “different,” as Crowder put it in The Daily Wire.
A rising Republican gubernatorial contender might have been silenced for the same effect, he argued, or Big Tech’s power could have been hidden. There will be a huge audience size reduction, with a disproportionate number of Arizona residents missing out on witnessing Kari Lake in person. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of individuals who may have investigated Twitter’s history of discrimination before Elon Musk’s recent reforms, will now be kept in the dark.
The conservative repeated his position, emphasizing the critical nature of these midterm elections.
Despite being the target of many “strikes” and censorship by Big Tech, Crowder’s impact has only risen. In the past month, pundit videos have been seen by tens of millions on YouTube alone. This number does not even account for the views on other sharing platforms.
Because “we all know how critical momentum and recent views are to YouTube when the algorithms choose which video to prioritize,” Crowder told The Daily Wire that the suspension will affect his team. We will be unable to access that massive market for two weeks if we lose access to the platform, and it will be difficult to make up for the lost time in the space of their algorithms.
Through an Instagram post, Crowder once again drove home his message. I feel like I’m at a place I’ve visited before, but it’s… off. Over a million of his subscribers were informed of the channel’s “yet another horrible attack” by YouTube.
He noted that a new election season was about to start. One in which conservative Republicans would win handily if the media were impartial. No, not if they want to keep their sanity. Don’t be fooled: these two strikes have something to do with the same candidate for governor who has publicly criticized major digital companies and endorsed a businessman (Musk) whose purchase and proposal for a massive tech platform would effectively allow more open and fair media coverage of elections.
It was “no coincidence” that it occurred “when we were reaching 100,000,000 plays/downloads within 30 days,” he said. Numbers by themselves are meaningless. The final choice is whether or not YOU place a higher value on the truth than they do on their falsehoods.
Then, what are our options? How likely is it that we will succeed, and should we give up now? That will never, ever happen! Longer episodes of #MugClub will continue to run as normal, and Crowder has said, “We’ll be streaming fully on Rumble starting Monday through November 17 (returning to YouTube on November 21).” Don’t ever believe that. The machine has reached its ultimate potential and cannot be enhanced any further. You have struck fear in their hearts, and with you comes the revolutionary change that is taking place in our country. Do not give up until you have accomplished what you set out to do.
