Actress and activist Anne-Marie Johnson has sparked conversation by displaying flags critical of U.S. immigration enforcement outside her California residence.

Neighbors and passersby noticed the banners, which include messages opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and its role in federal immigration operations. Johnson, known for her work in television and film as well as community activism, has long been outspoken on social justice issues, and the flags are an extension of her public stance.

Residents in the area said they observed the display over several days, with some applauding Johnson’s use of her platform to make a statement and others saying they found the imagery provocative. The flags were placed in visible positions, making them hard to miss from the street.

Johnson has not released a formal public statement about the display, but supporters on social media and community forums shared photos and praised her for taking a visible position on immigration policy and enforcement.

The use of personal property to express political views is protected speech, experts note, though such displays can generate mixed reactions in diverse communities. The prominence of the signage drew local attention and was widely shared online.

As the debate over immigration enforcement continues nationally, symbolic gestures like flag displays around private homes have become one way public figures and private citizens alike express their viewpoints. Johnson’s display added a high-profile example to that pattern, reinforcing her ongoing engagement in political and civic discussions.
