Hilario Yanez was brought to the United States from Mexico when he was only the age of 1. Given that, he’s a DACA recipient. He appeared on Fox & Friends and blew the Democrats narrative about President Trump out of the water! Saying he has shown “leadership and compassion” in regards to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Here are some of my favorite excerpts!
“At the end of the day, here’s a guy who wants to provide a pathway to citizenship for myself and, you know, really make a difference in my life,” Yanez said. “I’m for that. Also, I believe we need to have border security so this doesn’t happen again.”
“And if a wall is necessary to provide another layer for border security to do their job in a safe and responsible manner, then, you know, I think it’s necessary to fund it,” he added to his remark.
“The Democratic leadership, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, really have no clear message,” Yanez said. “We have been confused, I think, at the end of the day, they have been using us as pawns.”
“We should have never shut down the government over DACA,” he continued.
“We should have never held our American people and our military hostage,” he said.

Recently, in an odd way of protest, many DACA recipients declared that they would freely self-deport the country should the deal not go through:
CNN reported:
“Alex and I are both over this [DACA situation],” said Daniela, who is 24-years-old. “If DACA ends, I will leave with Alex. I will close my business, leave work and school.”
Should Alex, who is 19, find herself unprotected, she said she is clear on what her plan will be. “I will leave. I will leave America as soon as possible,” she said. “I want to be able to leave on my terms. I’m not going to be waiting for anyone to come for me.”
Recently, as well, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis stated that he would not deport DACA recipients serving in the military or veterans who have been honorably discharged.
According to Politico, Mattis has decided that DREAMers on active duty (or in the reserves) will not be subject to deportation, even extending this to those who have enlisted but are waiting on boot camp.
