Either Adam Schiff is bluffing or he is a total idiot. By now, everyone knows that Mueller would have to face questions from Republicans, such as, “How can you say conclusively that the Russians hacked the DNC server when you never even saw it?” …and?
“Why did you drag the investigation past the midterm elections when you knew there was no collusion well before that?” There are many questions I’m willing to bet from the Republicans that he will refuse to answer.
Why do you think Nadler never subpoenaed him? He did not want the Republicans asking really tough questions.
House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) said on Tuesday that “time is running out” for Robert Mueller to testify.
“With someone like Bob Mueller, making an appeal to his patriotism and a sense of duty is the right way to go,” Schiff said Tuesday in an appearance on CNN.
“I think we’re reaching a point where if we can’t reach an agreement, and I hope we will, then we’ll have to use a subpoena,” Schiff added.
House Dems have been sparring with Mueller over his testimony for several weeks.
Last month Mueller announced he is retiring from the Justice Department and that he will not be testifying to Congress during a brief presser.
“I hope and expect this to be the only time that I will speak to you in this manner. I am making that decision myself. No one has told me whether I can or should testify or speak further about this matter,” Mueller said. “There has been discussion about an appearance before Congress — any testimony from this office would not go beyond our report.”
“The work speaks for itself — and the report is my testimony. I would not provide information beyond that which is already public in any appearance before Congress,” Mueller added.
The Democrats originally wanted Mueller to testify before Congress on May 15, however, the plans fell through.
