Investigators have revealed that bullet casings found at the scene of Charlie Kirk’s assassination bore engraved messages, suggesting ideological motives behind the attack. The inscriptions include anti-fascist slogans, internet meme language, and phrases linked to online subcultures.
Here are the key discoveries:
- A casing used in the shooting carried the phrase “notices, bulges, OwO, what’s this?”—a meme-style expression common in certain online role-play or furry communities.
- Three unused rounds were found with messages like “Hey fascist! Catch!” followed by directional arrows; another bore lyrics from the Italian anti-fascist song Bella Ciao; a different casing read “If you read this, you are gay, LMAO.”
- The weapon involved is identified as a .30-06 bolt-action rifle, recovered from nearby woods. Investigators also collected related physical evidence including palm and footwear impressions and surveillance footage.
- The suspect, identified as a 22-year-old male, was later arrested after a manhunt. Officials say online communications—such as on Discord—may have played a role in evidence gathering.
While authorities are still working to confirm a definitive motive, the engravings have led them to consider political and cultural factors as possibly influential in the crime.
