Except for Angela Bassett, everyone in the audience cheered when Jamie Lee Curtis was named the winner of her first Academy Award.

Bassett (64) and Curtis (64) were both nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for their roles in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” respectively.

Bassett didn’t seem too happy when he heard Curtis had won. The ABC show showed that she sat in the first row and didn’t even get up to applaud.

People on Twitter didn’t agree on whether the “Black Panther” actor or Angela Bassett should have won. Some people were upset that the actor had to wait while Curtis got all the praise, and others were upset that Bassett didn’t win.

One of the people we talked to said, “It hurts me to hear what Angela Bassett said.”

“It doesn’t matter who won the Oscar for the best movie… Angela Bassett might have stood up and cheered for the winner. “If you didn’t win, you could just sit there and not cheer,” the commentator said.

“Hey, Angela Bassett, don’t worry. It was a good example of how to lose with class.” He sat down with a frown and a face full of anger. “Someone tweeted about it.

“I find it strange that Angela Bassett didn’t stand up for Jamie Lee Curtis. I understand that you’re upset that you didn’t win, but dang! Someone penned something.

The Post has talked to people who work for Bassett and Curtis to find out what they think about what’s going on.

Bassett’s sadness gave a lot of people watching a reason to show their own. Angela Bassett said, “Are you telling me that Jaime Lee Curtis’s corny performance was better than what she did?”

Another person said, “Angela Bassett did the thing, and she’s still SNUBBED?

“Angela Bassett’s tears when Jamie Lee Curtis’ name was called show how much it would have meant to her to win an Oscar. She has been and always will be amazing. “I hope to see her on that stage as soon as possible!” said someone else.

As the first nominee from a Marvel movie, Bassett made history.

Bassett told Entertainment Tonight early in the evening that she was “feeling very happy” after getting her first nomination in 1994 for “What’s Love Got to Do With It.”

Bassett brought along her husband, Courtney B. Vance, and their two 17-year-old kids, Bronwyn and Slater. Bassett was wearing a purple Moschino dress, to be exact.

Now is the time, and I hope she gets the praise I think she deserves, Slater said. I know how important this is to her, and I can’t wait for us both to have it happen.

Help came from a lot of different people, including her children. When Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors gave Bassett the award for best cinematography, they made sure to thank him for his work.
