Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York’s It did not go over well when someone said, “I told you so,” about Amazon.

As reports surfaced that the tech giant was halting development on a comparable project in Virginia, the Democratic socialist was criticized online for bragging that she had killed an Amazon headquarters in Queens.

For opposing what I saw as a waste of taxpayer money, I was met with retaliation from New York’s political elite. “We were correct in the end,” AOC, who represents sections of Queens and the Bronx, tweeted on Friday.

She went on, “I know I’ll never get an apology for that period, but it was worth it.

When it comes to not receiving apologies, AOC was correct.

You fought against it to make headlines, but you sacrificed your region thousands of jobs in the process. I just read on Twitter that Jacob Airey thinks you should resign in shame.

For example, journalist Tom Elliott stated, “Virginians have hundreds of Amazon jobs that New Yorkers don’t thank you.”

A second user on Twitter pointed out, “that was 3 years ago, Tootsie, and it wasn’t a 2nd Headquarters. “You are a proven sniper of employment opportunities!”

About what, exactly, are you correct? “Those jobs moved,” chimed in another Twitter user.

After announcing the largest amount of layoffs in company history, Amazon has announced that it will delay the second phase of its Virginia project.

Amazon stated that the 8,000 workers were still expected to move in for the first phase’s June opening.

The development delay comes four years after the firm first announced plans to build its second headquarters in Long Island City, a move that was expected to attract some 25,000 jobs to the area.

Several politicians felt that Amazon should not have been granted $3 billion in state and municipal tax benefits.
