Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other prominent New York Democrats have come out in support of Fox News’ decision to fire Tucker Carlson. The term “de-platforming works” is often used as a synonym for “good things can happen.”
After spending the weekend criticizing Tucker Carlson’s program for “inciting violence” and encouraging lawmakers to “explore through law” techniques to limit what can be said on networks like Fox TV, Ocasio-Cortez is now calling for a ban on what can be said on such networks.
After hearing that Fox News had fired Tucker Carlson, the New York City delegate mourned, “It couldn’t have happened to a nicer person.” I was able to get some much-needed sleep after learning that the individual who had purportedly threatened death and violence against my company and others around the country had been caught.
She made reference to a moment in a Marvel movie in which Loki, hidden behind a curtain, clutches the side of a building. However, that would change if deplatforming were to be successful. Your wildest hopes will soon be realized.
As soon as he heard Carlson was leaving Fox News, the congressman made his feelings known. The accusations came as a shock after Carlson’s meteoric rise to popularity in recent years.
According to the statement released by the network, “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways.” Following his resignation, the show’s producers released a statement stating, “We thank him for his work as a host and before that, as a contributor to the network.”
The message continued, “Mr. Carlson’s last show was on Friday, April 21.” The premiere of Fox News Tonight airs tonight at 8 o’clock PM EDT. In the interim, other FOX News personalities will take turns hosting.
