Prominent among these accomplishments is her active role in calling for an investigation into Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas over multiple ethics scandals.
Ocasio-Cortez, a vocal critic of Justice Thomas, has been at the forefront in urging the Justice Department to delve into allegations of corruption involving the Justice. She has also advocated for his impeachment. In a detailed video on social media, Ocasio-Cortez elaborated on her efforts, noting the support of senior Democratic members from the House Judiciary and Oversight committees.
The call for Thomas’s resignation intensified following a ProPublica report that alleged he accepted numerous luxurious gifts and trips during his tenure on the Supreme Court, including international private jet flights, helicopter rides, VIP sports event passes, and resort stays, along with revealing his connections to several billionaire benefactors.
Beyond the issue surrounding Justice Thomas, Ocasio-Cortez’s list of achievements spans various other significant initiatives and actions. These include her efforts to aid constituents, her work on expanding the Green New Deal, advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza during the conflict between Israel and Hamas, and the successful passage of legislation lifting the ban on studying psychedelics.
