AOC needs to reboot her head because her brain has frozen up. Or maybe it’s just like college where she learned nothing but she made a comparison between Presidents Trump and Reagan, but it’s the wrong comparison. She claims that Reagan won in a landslide because Democrats weren’t paying attention and warns the same thing is about to happen with Trump because Democratic voters are too stupid to vote for Bernie.
AOC wasn’t even born yet when President Reagan was reelected so she could be forgiven somewhat for not knowing what his record was but she gets no such allowance where Trump is concerned. But she is right about one thing. There is a strong resemblance between Reagan’s reelection and Trump’s.
Both came into office after really terrible Democratic presidents who decimated our military and threw a monkey wrench int our economy. Both came into power just as the American people were feeling bad about our country. But both revived the military, gave the economy a swift kick in the behind and got people to feeling better about themselves and the country.
AOC said this about Reagan:
“Now, listen to this, this was his analysis back then in 1984 that Reagan won, not by genius, he won while we were asleep.”
“‘He won by the margin of despair. He won by the fracture of our coalition, by the margin of racial division. He won by default.’ Does that sound familiar, Michigan?”
Ronald Reagan won his reelection by winning 49 states. That’s not because people weren’t paying attention but rather because they were. Reagan won the popular vote by 17 million. Unemployment was low and the economy was off the charts. Our military was the strongest in the world and people were feeling great about the country. And guess what? That’s exactly why President Trump will get his second term in office. Gaqme, set, match.
