AOC Appeared on “This Week” on Sunday and she expressed the frustration that she and other progressives feel toward Nancy Pelosi, especially over the decision on whether to impeach or not.
The reason is that Nancy Pelosi as hateful as she is is also a realist. Not only could impeachment cost the Democrats a chance at the White House, but it could also cost them control of the House as well. Pelosi remembers very well how her total rejection of Democratic moderate cost her the Speakership of the House when all 34 moderates either resigned or were defeated in the 2010 elections.
They took back the House in 2018 when a goodly number of moderates won in Republican districts. They lose them and they lose the house.
Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said the progressivewing of the Democratic Party was frustrated with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) over her reluctance to move forward with the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
Ocasio-Cortez said, “I think that impeachment is incredibly serious, and this is about the presence and evidence that the president may have committed a crime, in this case, more than one. And so I believe that our decision on impeachment should be based in our constitutional responsibilities and duties and not in elections or polling.”
When asked if “progressive frustration,” with Pelosi is real, Ocasio-Cortez responded, “I think it’s quite real. I believe that there is a very real animus and desire to make sure that we are — that — that we are holding this president to account.”
