During a Labor Day rally in Pennsylvania, President Biden took a jab at former President Donald Trump, portraying him as a “great real estate developer” who “didn’t construct anything.” Biden, while emphasizing his role as a champion of infrastructure, compared his approach to Trump’s.
Biden pointed out that the previous administration’s “Infrastructure Week” had become a running joke due to its inability to make significant progress on infrastructure projects. In contrast, Biden asserted that under his leadership, infrastructure development has become a top priority, highlighting the substantial federal funding allocated to Pennsylvania as part of the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law.
The president also accused Trump of sending jobs to China during his presidency, despite Trump’s efforts to address offshoring and impose tariffs on Chinese products.
As Biden hinted at a potential campaign strategy for the 2024 election, he presented himself as “Middle Class Joe.” He noted that this label, often used as a self-styled nickname, reflects his commitment to working-class Americans and their struggles to make a living. Biden clarified that being part of the middle class doesn’t equate to a lack of sophistication but rather signifies hard work and determination.
The upcoming GOP presidential campaign in 2024 is expected to center on allegations of financial impropriety involving the Biden family’s business dealings with partners in countries such as China, Russia, and Ukraine during Joe Biden’s vice presidency.
