The intelligence community in the United States can’t agree on whether the deadly virus spread from a laboratory or animals.

On Monday, President Biden signed legislation ordering the release of previously classified information about the spread of COVID-19.

The bipartisan measure clears the way for the ODNI to release information previously classified on the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. Prospective possibilities to investigate the plant and the epidemic are cited.

President Joe Biden stated in a statement that the Trump administration will “continue to evaluate all classified material relevant to the origins of COVID-19,” including any possible ties to China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology. Consistent with my constitutional right to prevent the exposure of material that might impair national security, my administration will declassify and release as much of that information as practicable to implement this legislation.

There is disagreement among U.S. intelligence services as to whether the deadly virus originated in a laboratory breach or an animal spill. It may take years, if ever, for scientists to determine the real genesis of the coronavirus epidemic, which has killed over 1.1 million in the United States and millions more throughout the world.

The CIA and another unidentified agency are on the fence over whether or not the COVID-19 pandemic was started by natural transmission from an infected animal, while the National Intelligence Council and four other agencies have “low confidence” in this theory.

“Three years after COVID-19 shook the world, fundamental issues regarding the virus’s history remain unanswered. To put it bluntly, that’s not acceptable “Formerly, House Select Committee on China Chairman Mike Gallagher told Fox News Digital.

We cannot afford to wait much longer for the Chinese Communist Party to work with U.S. authorities and provide them access to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to answer the issue of how this pandemic originated, he said. “Congress must take action to require the White House to declassify information on the epidemic that has been kept secret.”
