President Joe Biden made light of statements by Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who blamed him for two fentanyl-related deaths under the Trump administration.
He spoke at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference in Baltimore, where he reflected on the party’s legislative accomplishments and offered his vision for the future.
What do you think, is she great or what?” he said, causing a round of laughter. She recently made it apparent that she blames me for the fentanyl overdose deaths of a mother and her two children.
He smiled as he explained that the fentanyl they had taken had been manufactured during the previous dosage, which added an interesting twist.
In testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee on Tuesday, Greene cited testimony from conservative activist Rebecca Kiessling, who blamed President Joe Biden’s policies for the murders of her sons Caleb, 20, and Kyler, 18, in July of 2020.
“Listen to this mom, who lost two children to fentanyl overdose, describe the truth about both of her sons’ deaths due to the Biden administration’s refusal to guard our border and stop the Cartels from murdering Americans every day via Chinese fentanyl,” Greene tweeted on Tuesday.
Biden noted that these deaths all took place under Trump’s administration.
During his address, President Biden made fun of Republicans for standing in the way of his program, while also praising his own efforts on the home front and painting himself as a hero to the working class in the face of growing costs of living.
The fact that several Republican lawmakers stood up during the State of the Union speech to voice their opposition to cuts to Social Security spending was a very encouraging sign. To my knowledge, that was the most unusual State of the Union I’ve ever witnessed. Nevertheless, everyone stood up. Since it’s all on film, they won’t be able to forget, “The mystery was deepened by his next remarks.
Both Republican Senator Rick Scott of Florida and Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy of California have refuted Biden’s and the media’s claims that they want to cut back on funding for Social Security and Medicare.
For his part, Senator Rick Scott “has been claiming for years he wants to eliminate Social Security and Medicare and now says, ‘Never mind,'” as the story puts it. President Biden felt a sharp pain in his side.” He now thinks he was simply being obtuse when he originally said he agreed with this, but he insists he has always felt this way. I’d want to let you know that I’m a convert who now recognizes the efficacy of prayer. It’s possible they’ve made a divine discovery.
Biden presented many high-stakes objectives for the future while also noting his record of successes, including as the Inflation Reduction Act and the bipartisan infrastructure plan. Among these are the formalization of Roe v. Wade, the elimination of assault rifles and high-capacity magazines, and the continuance of his efforts to bring down the cost of pharmaceuticals.
The Republican Party may win a big majority and put these plans into action. I know it’s really challenging, but it exists, “His words. Repeat after me: “You’re going to have a lot more Republicans heading our way if you add a little bit more Marjorie Taylor Greene and a couple more.”
