President Biden is facing criticism from conservatives after reports surfaced that his aides have been instructed to publicly state that he has only six grandchildren, deliberately omitting his estranged 4-year-old granddaughter, the daughter of Hunter Biden.
Hunter Biden recently resolved his child support case in Arkansas, bringing an end to a long-standing paternity dispute over his young daughter. However, both President Biden and the first lady have chosen not to acknowledge her as their seventh grandchild.
According to a court filing, Hunter agreed to provide some of his paintings to his daughter as part of the settlement, while the child’s mother, Lunden Alexis Roberts, withdrew her counterclaim seeking to change their child’s last name to “Biden.”
The New York Times published a comprehensive report that delved into the family dispute, examining the role of money, politics, and the complexities of the Biden family dynamics.
Sources familiar with strategy meetings revealed that White House aides have been directed to refer to the president and first lady as having six grandchildren, excluding the seventh. This distinction was made during discussions and planning sessions.
During an event at the White House for “take your child to work day” in April, President Biden specifically mentioned his six grandchildren by name, expressing his love for them and how he speaks to them every day.
Moreover, the president has consistently displayed six Christmas stockings at the White House, leaving out the stocking for his seventh grandchild, indicating a pattern of exclusion from this annual tradition.
However, as President Biden gears up for potential re-election in 2024 and scrutiny intensifies over Hunter’s overseas business dealings, he has made public efforts to embrace his son and grandson. They have accompanied him to Camp David for two consecutive weekends.
Just last month, the Justice Department announced that Hunter Biden had reached a plea agreement related to two tax violations and a felony gun charge, which is expected to spare him from serving a prison sentence.
Conservatives took to Twitter to condemn the allegations in The New York Times report, describing the Bidens’ exclusion of their granddaughter as “disturbing” and “heartbreaking.”
