In a pre-Fourth of July celebration, the Biden administration’s Department of Defense, known for its woke ideology, honored a male U.S. Army major who identifies as female, declaring that the major’s personal journey is an inspiration to everyone.
The Department of Defense tweeted about Maj. Rachel Jones, who serves as the U.S. Army Sustainment Command Cyber Division chief, G6 (Information Management). The tweet praised Jones for living “her truth” and highlighted her journey from battling depression and suicidal thoughts to embracing her authentic self.
Speaking on behalf of LGBTQ+ veterans and soldiers who have concealed their true identities, “master resilience trainer” Stephanie Allers posed a thought-provoking question: “Imagine having to hide your true self every day, possibly for your entire life. How many of us could endure that?”
Jones shared her personal experience, stating, “Through therapy, I was able to disentangle my transgender identity from feelings of guilt and shame. I began accepting and loving myself.”
In November 2022, Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida and Representative Chip Roy of Texas released a report criticizing the military leadership’s embrace of woke diversity, transgender policies, and ideology, arguing that it was eroding the effectiveness of the U.S. military.
The report emphasized that the primary purpose of the military is to defend the nation, not to serve as a platform for left-wing social experiments or to cater to the sensitivities of academia or progressive circles. It stressed the importance of effectiveness as the sole objective, with all other considerations subordinate to that goal. The report also questioned the prioritization of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training over competence and mission accomplishment.
Highlighting the inconsistency in military policies, the report noted that individuals are prohibited from enlisting with dental devices such as Invisalign or braces, yet the military now proudly promotes and celebrates sex reassignment procedures, which require significant recovery periods.
Responding to criticism, a Department of Defense spokesperson defended their policies, stating, “Diversity, inclusion, and equality are about leveraging the strengths of all our people, removing barriers, and ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Our greatest weapons system is our people, and that’s why our policies aim to enhance unit cohesion and utilize the talents of every individual.”
