The “Take Our Border Back” multi-state convoy is scheduled to begin its voyage from Virginia Beach, VA to Eagle Pass, Texas, on February 3. The coordinated endeavor seeks to mobilize the general public’s interest in the worsening migrant crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border and to urge the Biden administration to implement resolute measures.
One of the coalition’s executives, Pete Chambers, stated the organization’s mission on its website. “Fellow citizens and compatriots, I call on you in the name of liberty, of patriotism, and everything dear to the American character to come to our aid with all dispatch,” Chambers concluded. He underscored the coalition’s determination to defend their nation’s integrity in the manner of soldiers.
Branches of the convoy, which will traverse multiple locations, are scheduled to organize demonstrations in Arizona, California, and Texas. By casting light on the issue of open borders, it seeks to “send a message” to local, state, and federal officials to close the border and deport all illegal immigrants.
The objective of the press release issued by Take Our Border Back was to “demand urgent measures to ensure the security of our borders in order to prevent the nation from facing irreparable and severe repercussions.” The organization encourages all individuals to engage in nonviolent participation, underscoring the critical nature of halting and ultimately eradicating drug and human trafficking that is linked to uncontrolled borders.
The convoy, according to the organizers, symbolizes the “vibrant American spirit” and the solidarity of “We the People” as they convey to legislators and immigration enforcement officials a message that is lawful, transparent, and peaceful. They contend that daily, along the southern frontier, tens of thousands of illegal immigrants, criminals, and known terrorists from over 160 countries enter the United States.
In regards to the management of the border crisis, Texas and the Biden administration are embroiled in a complex impasse that has prompted this initiative. Recently, the Supreme Court sided with the administration and permitted agents to continue cutting Texas-erected border wire. Unless absolutely necessary, the Border Patrol has “no plans” to remove the wire at this time.
The Biden administration has additionally initiated legal proceedings against Texas in relation to a legislation permitting arrest of unauthorized immigrants by state and local authorities. This development serves to escalate the already contentious legal dispute surrounding Texas’s conduct in the Rio Grande.
Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has asserted the state’s “self-defense” in response to what he perceives as federal indifference towards a “invasion” of migrants. In contrast, the Biden administration contends that Texas is meddling in the enforcement of federal immigration laws.
The “Take Our Border Back” convoy endeavors to bring attention to these concerns and advocate for more stringent border control measures; it reflects the increasing activism and public apprehension regarding domestic immigration policies.
