In an interview with Fox News’s Geraldo Rivera on Friday, former Attorney General Bill Barr said some harsh things about his old boss, former President Donald Trump.
“Is Donald Trump qualified to lead the country?” Rivera asked Barr this question at an event in Cleveland, Ohio, at the City Club.
“He’s not disciplined enough. Barr told Rivera, “He doesn’t know how to set priorities, think strategically, or figure out how to get things done in the system.” “When he’s left on his own, it’s a horror show. You might like his ideas, but Trump won’t give you his ideas. He will bring about chaos.”
“And, if anything, cause a backlash that will set his policies back much further than they would have been otherwise,” Barr said.
“It’s a very direct answer,” said Rivera. Trump, on the other hand, is still the clear leader in the GOP presidential race for 2024. In polls, he has always been ahead of the other candidates, often by more than 10 points.
Since Trump chose Barr to be his attorney general in 2019, things haven’t been easy between the two men. After the 2020 presidential election, Trump said that Barr would be leaving his job on December 23, 2020. The two men have had a fight over Trump’s false claims of voter fraud in the 2020 elections, which Barr called “bulls***.”
In August of last year, Barr said that Trump called him a “f***ing loser” during a meeting about protests after George Floyd was killed. Barr has recently said that Trump’s legal problems could get worse because secret papers found at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate could lead to another charge. But he has also said bad things about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the charge against Trump because of hush money paid to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal in 2016 to keep them quiet.
Barr’s words are similar to what he has said before, when he told the GOP to move on from Trump and choose someone else for president.
