Bill Maher Gives New Warning About Charging Trump

The actor from “Game of Thrones” begged Manhattan’s district attorney, Alvin Bragg, to dismiss the charges against the former president.

Friday night’s panel discussion was opened by Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time,” who argued against filing criminal charges against former President Donald Trump in connection with the ongoing probe in Manhattan.

I don’t want to give Donald Trump the satisfaction of talking about him,” Maher stated of Trump. I thought his absence was probably only brief. One past president, though, may be arrested in the near future. And if he does, his followers, he adds, would unleash slaughter on the streets.

In addition, he said, “I simply want to go on public stating I feel this is a big mistake if they pursue these accusations. There isn’t a single answer, of course. I have no question that he performed all the deeds of which he has been accused; yes, he has done a lot of bad things, and I’m sure he did this, too. However, at first, it won’t work. This will be a huge boon to his 2024 presidential candidacy. You tried with Mueller, you tried with Ukraine, you tried with January 6th, and MAGA country will be left thinking, “Oh, you tried with all of those.” All set for the pornographic celebrity? Really? I mean, really, to this?

The Atlantic’s Annie Lowrey agreed, noting that Trump’s support has only risen in recent weeks, particularly in Republican Party primary polls where he has consistently led his most probable opponent, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The more the circus makes him the center of its attention, Lowrey said, “the better he tends to do.” “I think that we’ve seen in, you know, the past you know, however many years at this point that the more attention is on heavy regardless of what that attention is about, the better he tends to do.”

Professor Scott Galloway of New York University has said that an indictment “is going to be a perp parade, not a perp walk.”

In order to increase the likelihood of him being the nominee, greater force must be behind the arrow that lands. You seem to be interested in Georgia. Galloway chimed in, “This is simply not enough.”

According to the poll cited by Lowrey, 75% of Trump’s followers “know” that the accusations against him are false, but they also think that “none of these charges really matter.”

Last week, Trump said he was about to be imprisoned because Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was looking into whether or not Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen committed any financial crimes in 2016.

No effort was made to capture Trump.

Bragg elevated a misdemeanor to a felony, but critics on both sides of the aisle have downplayed the case’s relevance.
