San Juan, Puerto Rico - 10/07/17: The Mayor of San Juan Carmen Yulín has led her own efforts separate from those of the central and federal government out a makeshift warehouse and shelter at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum. Her attacks on Trump launched her into the national spotlight during the Hurricane. Hurricane María slammed into the island of Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, on September 20, 2017 as a high-end category 4 storm. The damage has left 40% of the island without drinking water and 95% of the island without electricity. The official death toll was of 34 as of October but secondary deaths are estimated in the hundreds. CREDIT: Christopher Gregory

The FBI has announced that they have raided City Hall in San Juan Puerto Rico for corruption in how federal funds were used in various schemes. The mayor, Carmen Yulín Cruz spent the entire hurricane crises on TV criticizing Trump, and apparently, supplies from the United States was mishandled and much of the supplies were never distributed and went bad.

Now, people in her government are suspected of fixing contracts and falsifying documents. This had to do with federal money or it would not be the jurisdiction of the FBI. The FBI said at least 10 agents but less than 50 participated in the raid, that went on for hours.

    From The Blaze

San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz criticized the president for what she said was a lack of proper government response to Hurricane Maria, but the FBI is investigating allegations that she or other government officials acted improperly when granting ]

FBI spokesperson Carlos Osorio told the Washington Examiner that more than 10 agents, but fewer than 50, raided the municipal offices Tuesday. He called the operation “pretty big” and said it was conducted over several hours.

He indicated that the raid was targeting members of the city government, but not the mayor specifically.

“We have received allegations that they have been fixing contracts, that they are falsifying documents,” Osorio said, “these having to do with federal funds because if not, we would not have any jurisdiction.

“They’re not directed at the mayor, but against people that work at the tower,” he added.

If the mayor was not involved in the graft, it would probably mean that she did not monitor how the money was spent. What kind of mayor is that?
