Rep Devin Nunes, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee has announced that he and the other Republicans plan on holding a contempt vote against AWOL AG Jeff Sessions.

The House is trying to get information on one specific person and Sessions has denied them that information. In fact, the Republicans have had to make threats constantly in order to squeeze information out of the Department of Justice. It has slowed investigations by the House down to a crawl. Sessions is claiming that releasing that information would endanger lives and might obstruct relationships the intelligence community has with sources around the world.

This would be the first time that contempt of charges have been brought against an Attorney general of the same party. The first Attorney general voted to be in contempt of congress was Eric Holder for hiding damning information against the failed Fast and Furious program.

    From The Gateway Pundit

Rep. Nunes says he will move forward with a contempt resolution against DOJ AG Jeff Sessions for refusal to comply with latest House subpoena.

Rep. Devin Nunes: Two weeks ago we sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, a classified letter. Per usual, it was ignored… So last week we sent a subpoena. Then on Thursday we discovered they’re not going to comply with our subpoena on some very important information that we need. The only thing we can do is we have to move quickly to hold the Attorney General of the United States in contempt. And that’s what I’m going to press for this week.

“.@DevinNunes sent classified letter to AG Sessons asking for info/ AG Sessions DOJ ignored—-Move forward with contempt resolution against DOJ AG for refusal to comply with latest subpoena. They will go to court to force contemt subpoena against AG Sessions”
