Democrat Adam Schiff of California said on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” on January 16 that Facebook parent corporation Meta had reinstated former President Donald Trump’s account after a two-year suspension in the wake of the violence on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, for financial gain.
When asked whom the sole announced Republican contender for president was, Joy Reid of CNN answered, “Donald Trump. His social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram, were just restored to him.
Schiff: “I think Facebook’s decision to reinstate Donald Trump is absurd. This is a complete and utter surrender and capitulation. Making money is the only possible motivation here.
He said, “Looking at what Donald Trump has been putting on his own social media channel, it violates Facebook’s regulations. He has supported rebels even after they have done violent deeds. This massive untruth that he has been spreading continues to come from him. For me, it is terrible that Facebook prioritized profits over public safety when making its choice to prevent Trump from spreading misinformation on the site.
Reid said, “They have indicated they feel the threat has passed, which is absurd.”
