A handyman in Northern California was able to get revenge on the squatters who had taken over his mother’s house by staying there himself after they had walked out.
Nearly three million people have seen Flash Shelton’s video on how he promptly evicted squatters from his mother’s house.
Shelton claimed in his video, “If they could take a house, then I could take a house.”
A handyman exacted his vengeance on the squatters who had taken over his mother’s house by moving in himself, armed to the teeth.
Flash Shelton uploaded a video boasting of his one-day eviction of squatters from his mother’s house.
Shelton, a member of the United Handyman Association, is heard on camera saying, “If they could take a house, then I could take a house.”
“They squatted, and they have legal standing.” Now, he reasoned, if I were to become the squatter on the squatter, I would presumably be entitled to certain protections.
Shelton claims that squatters moved into his mother’s abandoned house some months ago.
Shelton explained that his father had lately gone away and that his mother was unable to continue living in the house.
A lady claiming to be a prison guard approached Shelton about renting the house, but he turned her down since she allegedly lacked the financial means to do so.
Despite this, he subsequently found out that a truckload of her possessions had been delivered to the house.
Shelton said that the woman had explained that the package had arrived by mistake and that she was now discarding it.
However, Shelton subsequently found out via acquaintances and real estate agents that this was not the case.
When Shelton phoned the police, he got a useless response.
They essentially said, “You know, I’m sorry, but we can’t enter the house, and it seems like they’re living there. That’s why you have to go through the legal system,” Shelton explained.
The handyman said in the caption that he had heard of “squatters’ rights” cases but had no idea he would have to deal with one himself.
Shelton explained that he had learned “horror stories” about how the judicial system provides the squatter more rights than the owners and had thus devised his own plan to get the squatters removed in less than 24 hours.
