A teenager has been formally charged with attempted murder following the shooting of San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall. The incident, which occurred earlier this week, has shocked both the sports community and fans of the NFL.

Authorities identified the suspect as a 17-year-old male, whose name has not been released due to his age. He was apprehended shortly after the shooting, which took place in a residential neighborhood where Pearsall was visiting friends. According to police reports, Pearsall was shot multiple times and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

The suspect was charged with attempted murder and other related offenses following a preliminary investigation. Officials have not disclosed a potential motive for the attack, and the investigation is still ongoing. Law enforcement is currently working to gather more information about the events leading up to the shooting.

The San Francisco 49ers have expressed their support for Pearsall and his family, releasing a statement that wished him a full recovery and thanking the medical staff attending to him. Teammates and fans have also shared messages of solidarity, hoping for his swift return to the field.

As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. The case has also prompted a broader conversation about youth violence and its impact on the community. Further updates will be provided as more details become available.
