Reportedly, legendary singer Cher has petitioned for a conservatorship over her 47-year-old son, Elijah Blue Allman, due to alleged substance abuse and mental health issues. Based on legal records acquired by The Post, it appears that Cher is vying for sole conservatorship of her son’s estate on the grounds that he is incapable of effectively managing his financial resources.
Cher has been unable to discuss Elijah’s preferences regarding the appointment of a temporary conservator, according to the documents, due to his current mental and physical health issues. Cher conveyed apprehension regarding the potential expenditure of any disbursed funds to Elijah on illicit substances, which could threaten his existence and deprive him of means of subsistence.
This legal proceeding is in response to prior accusations levied by Queeny, the estranged wife of Elijah, Marieangela King. King alleged in divorce papers filed in December 2022 that Cher had, in an apparent intervention a month earlier, hired four men to abduct Allman from a hotel room in New York City. Cher has refuted these allegations, stating to People magazine, “That rumor is false,” and expanding in an interview with Chuck Arnold of The Post, “I neither did nor would I claim to have done it.”
In recent Instagram posts, Elijah Blue Allman, who divorced King in 2021, has utilized the hashtag #ImprisonmentViaConservatorship; however, the meaning or significance of this hashtag is still unknown.
In the past, Cher has expressed sympathy for the difficulties encountered by numerous American families by referencing Randy Allman’s battles with substance abuse. She underscored the significance of a mother’s responsibility to assist her children, asserting, “One would do anything for their children. “A mother simply does what she can to assist her children; that is the essence of motherhood.”
The circumstances underscore the intricacies and difficulties encountered by families grappling with substance addiction and mental health concerns. Cher’s decision to petition for conservatorship demonstrates her dedication to ensuring her son receives the essential support and protection he requires, as well as her concern for his welfare.
