Chief Justice John Roberts is most likely planning to order a full-scale FBI investigation into the Supreme Court draft that was leaked, as read in a new report coming from CBS.

This news crops up just scant hours after the unprecedented leaking of a new draft majority opinion that detailed that the Court could be slated to try and overturn the 1973 landmark ruling, Roe v. Wade.

“Chief Justice Roberts is likely to order a full investigation involving the FBI into the reported leak of a draft majority opinion, reports @JanCBS — as some question if it will throw the Supreme Court’s legitimacy into question,” stated a tweet from CBS Mornings early on Monday.

Monday night, Politico put out the SCOTUS draft that had been leaked ot the public, but it is still entirely unclear who the person responsible for the leak actually is.

Preliminary reports seemed to indicate that Roberts did not sign on with the majority opinion as the other five heavily conservative justices allegedly stated that “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start.”

“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” stated Alito in the draft of the majority opinion. “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”

Politico stated in a report, “The three Democratic-appointed justices – Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan – are working on one or more dissents, according to the person. How Chief Justice John Roberts will ultimately vote, and whether he will join an already written opinion or draft his own, is unclear.”

This past Monday evening, the leaked document had already sparked extreme responses of anger and celebration as the various tensions built up right outside the Supreme Court in the wake of the Politico release of the leaked document. A crowd of people supporting abortion and groups of pro-life advocates gathered outside the Court in order to carry out their respective protests of the draft of the unveiled pending choice.

experts on the court stated that this leak could in fact just be a political power move. “The leak appears to be totally political in nature, not only intended to damage the Court and pressure the justices, but more immediately to incite Democrats to push their laundry list of terrible anti-life ideas, including blowing up the filibuster and attempting to codify abortion violence at the federal level prior to the November elections,” stated Government Affairs Counsel at Americans United for Life (AUL), Katie Glenn.

The president of the Judicial Crisis Network, Carrie Severino, also stated, “That type of leak is an outrageous betrayal of trust.” she continued, “The Supreme Court is the only institution in town that doesn’t leak, and to do this is a real attack on the institution of the court. Not to mention just an outrageous breach of trust to the justices to do so.”
