CNN’s Acosta Reports Fake News Again (Still)

One thing you can say about CNN’s Jim Acosta. If there’s a fake news story somewhere, he will find it and spread it. If he can’t find one, he will just make one up. And once he gets caught lying, he refuses to back down or apologize.

That is probably page one of the CNN reporter’s manual. His latest prevarication is that President Trump painter legitimate asylum seekers with the same brush as those who aren’t legitimate.

Trump in Rose Garden speech paints asylum seekers with broad brush accusing them of misleading immigration authorities at border: “These are frivolous claims.”

The White House responded almost immediately with Trump’s actual quote:

Full quote: “Unfortunately legitimate asylum seekers are being displaced by those lodging frivolous claims.”

Confronted with the truth, Acosta refused to correct his fake news, Acosta maintains his contention is true no matter what Trump actually said.

    From Breitbart News

CNN’s chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta on Thursday misquoted a portion of President Donald Trump’s immigration speech and was quickly met with a fact-check by a Breitbart News reporter.

Speaking in the Rose Garden, President Donald Trump unveiled immigration reform proposals aimed at increasing the quota for skilled workers. During his remarks, the president assailed some asylum seekers’ abuses of the country’s immigration system. “Our nation has a proud history of affording protection to those fleeing government persecutions. Unfortunately, legitimate asylum seekers are being displaced by those lodging frivolous claims,” he said.

Acosta promptly accused the president of portraying all asylum claims as unmerited, misquoting him on social media: “Trump in Rose Garden speech paints asylum seekers with broad brush accusing them of misleading immigration authorities at border: ‘These are frivolous claims.’”
