Colorado Mom Sues School Over Secret ‘Gender’ Club

Erin Lee recently revealed that her daughter was involved in an after-school club that wasn’t what it initially appeared. The Colorado mother claims that her sixth-grade daughter and several other students were lured into an “art” club that turned out to be something much more sinister. In an interview with Harris Faulkner on Fox News, Lee shared that the club was actually a “gender and sexuality awareness” group, and that an outside presenter who had been invited by the art instructor did “absolutely unthinkable things” with the students.

According to Lee, the presenter used flags to explain “umbrella terms” related to gender identity, and told the students that they were transgender if they didn’t feel comfortable with their biological sex. The presenter also discussed topics such as polyamory and warned the students that the labels they were adopting could increase their risk of suicide. Lee alleges that the presenter also talked to the students about puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and told them that their parents were not safe people to turn to for support if they were having identity crises.

Lee claims that her daughter’s art teacher urged her not to tell her parents about the club, and that some parents were unaware of the club’s existence for up to a year because their children had followed the rules and not divulged any information about the meetings. Lee is not alone in her complaints; other parents have come forward with similar allegations.

Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is representing the families, and says that accountability and transparency are crucial in this case. Bondi asserts that parents, not teachers, should govern their children, and that schools should not be promoting political or social agendas. The Poudre School District, where the club was held, has not yet responded to Fox News’ request for comment.

The Poudre School District has affirmed the existence of the club, but has not addressed Lee’s specific complaints. In a statement to Fox News Digital in May, the district pledged to provide an inclusive and safe learning environment for all students, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. The district allows both student-sponsored and school-sponsored Gender and Sexuality Alliances (GSAs), and suggests that some conversations may be held in private due to the potentially delicate nature of the discussions.

Wellington Middle School’s GSA is an official school-sponsored group, and has been established to provide a welcoming and safe environment for people of all genders and sexual orientations and their allies. While the school district may have good intentions in creating these groups, parents like Lee are concerned about what is being taught to their children, and believe that they have the right to know what is happening in their child’s school.
