In a startling admission, federal prosecutor Lindsay Halligan confirmed that the indictment brought against former FBI Director James Comey did not pass through a full grand jury as typically required. Instead, the case was forwarded via a limited panel of jurors convened at the Justice Department.

Halligan, appointed by President Donald Trump’s team, said the deviation from ordinary procedure was due to “extraordinary circumstances,” though no specifics were provided. The revelation has led legal experts to question the validity of the proceedings and raised concerns about potential prosecutorial shortcuts in high-stakes political cases.

Comey’s team has already moved to challenge the indictment on the grounds of procedural impropriety, indicating that hearings will be scheduled soon where the court will sift through these newly surfaced irregularities.
