Fox News Digital has confirmed that Shellyne Rodriguez, the New York City professor who allegedly threatened to “chop up” a New York Post reporter with a machete, has a disposition date scheduled by the Bronx District Attorney’s Office.
According to a spokesperson for the DA, a status hearing was held on Monday to verify that the DA’s office has received and reviewed all relevant evidence and discoveries.
A representative for the company said that everything had been finalized to their satisfaction, and a possible disposal date of August 14, 2023, has been scheduled.
Reporter Ruven Fenton and photographer Robert Miller, both involved in the alleged machete incident, had their protection orders extended by the court until at least that date.
On Thursday, May 25, Rodriguez, 45, surrendered to authorities after being accused of threatening to kill a New York Post writer with a machete.
Rodriguez faces charges for two misdemeanors and a violation for menacing. The misdemeanor charges include criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and menacing in the second degree.
Rodriguez says the ordeal “has taken a toll” on her mental health, but she maintains that she is the true victim.
