Dallas Cowboys Super Star Defends National Anthem Rules

Jimmy Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys announced the Cowboys rules that do not allow for kneeling during the National Anthem. This has stirred up many NFL players, including Malcolm Jenkins, a defensive player for the Philadelphia Eagles, criticized Jones’ comments last week. He referred to Jones as a bully.

But like all liberals, he is poorly informed. But Dallas star Ezekiel Elliot replied to Jenkins and set him in his place. As an Ohio Buckeye fan, Elliot is one of the all-time greats. I can’t tell you how many times 4 or 5 defensive players surround him to take him down, only to see him squirm out of the pack for a large gain or a touchdown.

    First, what did Jones say?

He said at a press conference last week that despite possible changes to NFL policy, the Cowboys’ anthem policy remains the same.

“I will speak for one, and everybody knows where we stand, and we stand as a team,” Jones said. “Our policy is that you stand at the anthem, toe on the line.”

    What did Elliott say?

During press availability at training camp on Friday, Elliot dismissed the idea that Jones is a “bully” and explained the team chose and agreed to the policy.

“Us as a team, we chose to stand together for the national anthem. It was our decision. I think it just shows our culture. It shows that we have unity. We’re going to stand as one,” Elliott said, according to the Dallas Morning News.

“That’s not knocking anyone else who may choose to kneel during the national anthem. But we’re the Dallas Football Cowboys, America’s Team. We stand for the national anthem,” he explained.

I am not a Dallas fan. In fact, my two favorite NFL teams are the Giants and whoever is playing Dallas this week. Of course, I haven’t watch pro football for the past two years, but I do have respect for the Dallas players who instituted this policy on their own.
