UFC chief Dana White has faced criticism and backlash from some fans after announcing a $100 million sponsorship deal with Bud Light, a beer brand that previously faced financial losses following a controversial partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.

The UFC’s six-year, $100 million sponsorship deal with Bud Light was met with mixed reactions. Some fans accused White of being a “sellout” and felt the deal was a “slap in the face” to UFC fans. There were even calls for a boycott of UFC events.

In response to the criticism, Dana White defended the sponsorship deal and lashed out at those opposing it. He referred to critics as “dummies,” “assholes,” and “fucking stupid” for their opposition. White emphasized that all sponsorship deals are financially motivated and stressed that his choice was not solely about money. He cited alignment in core values as a key factor in the partnership, highlighting Bud Light’s contributions to various charitable causes, such as supporting the families of fallen police officers and soldiers.

White also refuted claims that he was reading a scripted endorsement for Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light, asserting his independence and authenticity in expressing his support for the partnership.

Bud Light had faced previous controversy and backlash for a short-lived ad campaign featuring transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. This partnership led to plummeting sales and a backlash against the brand. Some critics argue that the beer brand has supported radical LGBTQ activists and their agenda, particularly in educational settings, which contributed to their opposition to the deal.

The sponsorship deal between the UFC and Bud Light has stirred debate and mixed reactions, with White defending the partnership and expressing his alignment with the brand’s values. However, critics remain divided on the issue.
