Former New York City mayor Bill de Blasio has been publicly criticized by his ex-girlfriend Nomiki Konst, who accused him of lacking emotional commitment and abruptly pivoting to a new relationship while still involved with her. According to Konst, during their 10-month bond, de Blasio discussed plans for having children, only to end their relationship when he began seeing Roxanna Valenzuela, a mayor from South Tucson.

Konst described the breakup as painful and chaotic, calling Valenzuela “vapid” and labeling de Blasio’s behavior as rooted in a “fear of intimacy.” She claims she even reached out to Valenzuela personally, imploring her to end the emerging affair — a plea she says was ignored.

De Blasio has confirmed the new relationship and acknowledged regret over not being more forthcoming sooner, signaling the end of his relationship with Konst and the start of another chapter with Valenzuela.
