    Denver, Colorado, Hate Crime Suspect Says He Is Non-Binary, According to CNN’s Louis C.K.

    CNN political reporter Errol Louis said that the suspect in the shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs, in which five people were murdered, and 25 were injured, is claiming to identify as non-binary in order to avoid hate crime charges.

    Alisyn Camerota said during the program, “Today, lawyers for Anderson Lee Aldrich, the suspected shooter, filed documents in court stating their client now considers himself to be non-binary. In a footnote to a court claim, public defenders write, “Anderson Aldrich is non-binary.” They would like to be addressed as “they,” “them,” or “Mx. Aldrich” in any official papers. For this reason, neither Mr. nor Mrs.

    Also, she remarked, “That is not to say that there wasn’t information like that uncovered about him. People are looking into his past, and I was wondering whether there were any lawyers in the room. Really, I don’t know what to say in that situation. That’s what he’s saying right now.”

    “It appears like they’re trying to establish a defense,” Louis said of the people who have accused them of hate crimes. This is the least of his problems in the court system, but they seem to be trying to cast doubt on whether or not his acts were motivated only by hatred.
