Desperate Migrants Defy Multiple Laws To Reach US

Hundreds of thousands of Mexican migrants are getting ready to rush across the border into the United States because the Biden administration has eliminated Title 42, the public health authority traditionally used for border security.

They anticipate being released into the interior of the United States while they wait for their immigration hearings and asylum applications under President Biden’s comprehensive catch-and-release scheme.

CNN has been tracking a group of migrants who are attempting to enter the United States across the southern border from Mexico. They claim to be fleeing violence or poverty at home or searching for employment.

Migrants told CNN that Roberto, his sister, and their father are in their teens and on their way to the United States in search of jobs to escape the violence in Honduras.

The high crime rate and low standard of living in Venezuela, according to another emigrant, are to blame.

The DHS has been very clear that asylum requests based on criminal records or employment status will be denied. Asylum will only be granted to people who can demonstrate they are at risk of persecution due to their race, religion, nationality, political convictions, or membership in a certain social group.

A Colombian couple told CNN they had to abandon their five kids in order to seek asylum in the United States.

The Los Angeles Times conducted interviews with a similar number of migrants en route to the border, and they too gave the opportunity to find work, escape domestic violence, and care for aged relatives as their primary motivations for wanting to enter the country.

Breitbart News has devoted a great deal of time and energy to studying the historically low rate at which asylum is granted to non-citizens.

Massive backlogs in the federal immigration court system mean that many migrants, even those with valid asylum claims, will be released into the interior of the United States. Immigrants in New York City with questionable asylum applications may not be heard by an immigration judge until 2033.
