According to testimony given by Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s close business associate, he revealed crucial details to House investigators about the involvement of the Biden family with Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company. Archer stated that the so-called “Biden brand” played a significant role in keeping Burisma afloat, with Joe Biden actively promoting it during phone calls with the company’s executives.
In 2014, both Hunter Biden and Archer joined Burisma’s board, despite the company being under investigation for alleged misconduct. Hunter was paid a substantial monthly fee of $83,000 for his board position.
Archer testified that in December 2015, Burisma’s co-founder, Mykola Zlochevsky, and executive Vadym Pozharski pressured Hunter Biden to seek assistance from Washington, D.C., concerning Viktor Shokin, the Ukrainian prosecutor investigating the company for corruption. Joe Biden later boasted about Shokin’s firing during his official visit to Ukraine in 2015, raising suspicions about the circumstances surrounding it.
The FBI informant alleges that Joe and Hunter Biden accepted a $5 million bribe from Zlochevsky. Archer stated that during business meetings, Hunter would frequently put Joe Biden on speakerphone, including a dinner in China with Jonathan Li of Bohai Harvest RST (BHR), a company in which Hunter and Archer held interests through a shell company called Rosemont Seneca Thornton.
Further revelations surfaced when it was revealed that Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina, the billionaire ex-wife of Moscow’s former mayor, transferred $3.5 million to Rosemont Seneca Thornton in 2014. Joe Biden attended a business dinner in 2014 with Hunter Biden, Archer, and other business associates, including Baturina.
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer reacted to Archer’s testimony, stating that it confirms Joe Biden’s misleading statements to the American people regarding his knowledge and involvement in his son’s business dealings. The testimony raises questions about what else Biden might be concealing from the public.
