There are rumors circulating that Christine Ford sent a similar letter to Dianne Feinstein that she was assaulted by Neil Gorsuch, that went to the same high school as Brett Kavanaugh. But, you know how internet rumors are.
You can’t give them a lot of credence. Internet “sleuths” are always coming up with conspiracy theories based on something they found. I did a lot of searching and couldn’t find any corroboration for the rumors, but there were a couple of things that I found to be curious but could be totally unrelated. Kevin Jackson in a blog called the Blacksphere, where he posted a tweet making the claim, but things he wrote in the article were offensive, so I tuned him out.
There was a letter from Holton-Arms Alumnae in Support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, claiming that she was honest and that they fully supported her, but it has since been taken down.
The letter of support to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford at the Holton-Arms Alumnae page was recently taken down.
The second thing I found that was curious, came from Feinstein herself. Feinstein told reporters she could not vouch for everything in the letter, which could mean she did receive the letter about Gorsuch or may be totally unrelated.
Senator Dianne Feinstein of California conceded Tuesday that she can’t attest to the veracity of Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were in high school.
“[Ford] is a woman that has been, I think, profoundly impacted. On this . . . I can’t say that everything is truthful. I don’t know,” Feinstein told reporters on Capitol Hill when asked if she believed the allegation.
Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, has been maligned by her Republican colleagues for failing to disclose the sexual-harassment accusation after initially being made aware of it via a letter from Ford in July.
I suppose Feinstein might have delayed mentioning Ford’s letter because she received the first one the rumors talk about or she may have really been trying to honor Ford’s wishes.
The best rule of thumb is not to spread rumors and to wait for the facts to come out and in the meantime realize much of what you read on the net is pure rubbish.
