The U.S. Department of Justice said a newly released batch of documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation contains untrue and sensationalized claims involving President Donald Trump, cautioning the public against treating all references in the files as verified facts.
According to the department, some of the material includes unsubstantiated allegations that were never confirmed through investigation. DOJ officials emphasized that certain claims originated from raw tips, third-party submissions, or unverified reports collected during earlier stages of the case and do not represent factual findings.
The department noted that President Trump’s name appears in portions of the records, but stressed that inclusion alone does not imply wrongdoing. Officials reiterated that no verified evidence links Trump to criminal conduct connected to Epstein.
The document release followed legal transparency requirements, with the DOJ underscoring the importance of distinguishing between proven evidence and unsupported assertions. Officials also stressed the need to protect victims while ensuring the public understands the context and limitations of the information made available.
As additional Epstein-related records continue to be reviewed and disclosed, the department said it will continue to clarify which materials are credible and which claims lack factual basis.
