Democrats are fighting tooth and nail against a census question that asks if the person is an illegal alien. Their zeal has nothing to do with the illegal aliens. It’s about power.
In California and New York, that have huge illegal populations, if illegals are not counted, they could very well lose seats in Congress. Under the present count, which included illegals without the citizenship question, areas with fewer illegals have been robbed of seats by counting the illegals.
Elijah Cummings, whose wife is under investigation for paying herself a salary from her non profit and transferring those funds into her for profit company, where she pockets it, had threatened to find AG Bill Barr in contempt for refusing to turn the documents over.
But, Trump chopped him down to the knees by declaring Executive Privilege. He has stopped Cummings in his tracks.
After hitting back at Cummings Tuesday night and threatening to assert executive privilege, Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd sent the House Oversight Committee another letter Wednesday morning saying the Trump Administration has “engaged in good-faith efforts” to satisfy the committee’s oversight requests, reported theAssociated Press.
“Unfortunately, rather than allowing the Department to complete its document production, you have chosen to go forward with an unnecessary and premature contempt vote,” Boyd wrote in Wednesday’s letter.
Last week the Democrat-led House Oversight and Reform Committee, chaired by Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), moved to hold Attorney General Bill Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in contempt over the panel’s investigation into the Trump administration’s plans to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.
Liberals went crazy after Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross announced last year that the 2020 census will include a question on citizenship.
The liberals fear the citizenship question would cost Democrat strongholds electoral representation in Congress and federal aide and benefit Republican-leaning areas.
Of course the Democrats don’t want the citizenship question on the census because it gives illegal aliens representation in Congress — illegal aliens don’t even have to be given voting rights, as long as they are counted as citizens, they are given a US Representative who fights for their interests over the interests of taxpaying Americans — this is precisely why the Democrats are fighting like hell to stop the Trump admin from adding this question to the census.
