A man identified as Donald Henson is facing federal charges after allegedly ramming his vehicle into the gate of the FBI field office in Pittsburgh early Wednesday morning. Authorities consider the act a deliberate attack on the federal facility.
According to officials, the incident occurred at approximately 2:40 a.m. when Henson drove a white sedan into the entrance gate, narrowly missing a security booth occupied by an officer. After the collision, he got out of the car, draped an American flag across the damaged gate, shouted incoherently, and fled on foot.
Law enforcement later apprehended Henson without incident after a search. Although authorities say no injuries resulted from the episode, they noted the vehicle carried profane graffiti and that Henson has a history of mental health issues.
He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and property damage. Prosecutors are preparing to pursue the case aggressively. Investigators have stated that this was a targeted attack on the FBI building and have underlined the seriousness of such confrontations with federal institutions.
