Elon Musk has attributed the strained relationship with his transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, to the influence of a “woke mind virus” at the elite Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, California. Musk, the CEO of X (formerly Twitter), expressed his belief that the school had brainwashed her into becoming a fervent communist and holding the view that wealthy individuals are evil. He compared the pain of their estrangement to the loss of his firstborn child, Nevada.
According to an excerpt from the upcoming biography “Elon Musk,” Musk initially accepted Wilson’s transition but was taken aback when she embraced Marxism in April 2022 and severed all ties with him. Wilson petitioned to change her gender and name that year to distance herself from her biological father.
Musk, with an estimated net worth of $257.5 billion, partly blames Crossroads School for Wilson’s transformation. He pointed out the irony that this alleged “communist” K-12 school charges tuition of up to $50,000 per student annually. Musk also related this rift to his mission to combat “wokeness” and his eventual purchase of Twitter to defend free speech, claiming that the platform had been infected by a similar mindset that suppressed right-wing and anti-establishment voices.
This revelation marks the first time Musk has specified a particular school as a contributing factor to the divide between him and his daughter, despite previously attributing it to higher learning institutions dominated by “neo-Marxists.”
A spokesperson for Crossroads School did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
